I've been meaning to post this one for quite some time now. It's one of my favorite shots from last Summer's vacation down the Oregon Coast. About 15 miles south of Canon Beach we stumbled upon this gem of a site, Hug Point. The beach was almost deserted and we were treated with a few ocean caves and this waterfall.

It is named Hug Point because an old road use to twist around the coastline, hugging up against the rock. The remnants of the road can still be seen but is now covered in mussels and completely disappears when the tide comes in.

I recently entered this print in Arts Around, a Kootenay art show that travels to a different town each year. Surprisingly I took first place in the emerging artist category. Also, one of the jurors of the show bought my print and a local gallery now wants to sell my work. Needless to say I'm pretty excited about the whole experience.
